The following divisions have been approved by the FHSS board.  FHSS shows can offer any combination

of these divisions.  If an FHSS show offers divisions that are not on this list, points for those divisions will

not count toward  FHSS year end awards.  All or some of these divisions will be available at Freedom Horse

Show Series shows.  Please check each prize list.  

 

~EQUITATION DIVISIONS~

 

Leadline        Riders 7 yrs and under. Walk, Walk-Trot on lead, Walk off lead.  

Walk-Trot     Riders 10 yrs and under who are not yet comfortable cantering in a group and who have not shown at the canter in any previous horseshow. WT Equitation, WT Pleasure,  and WT  Hunter. May cross enter  into any Walk-Trot class. 

Pre-Short/Mini Stirrup - Riders 9 yrs and under.  Walk, Walk-Trot, Walk-Trot-Canter,  to jump 2 x's if                                                       offered.  May cross enter into Pleasure Pony or Short Stirrup.

Short Stirrup Equitation - Riders 11 yrs  and under.  Walk-Trot, Walk-Trot-Canter, and to jump 4 or 8 x's.  

Beginner Rider Equitation - Open to anyone in their 1st or 2nd year of showing. May be split into Juniors and Adults.                            Walk-Trot, Walk-Trot-Canter, and to jump 4 or 8 x's. May cross enter into Novice Eq, Pleasure, Low                                    Children's or  Low Adult.

Novice Equitation - Open to riders of any age who have not jumped over 2'. Walk-trot, Walk-Trot-Canter, and over                                 fences. May cross enter into Novice Eq, Pleasure, Low Children's or  Low Adult.

Junior Equitation - Open to Junior riders only. Judged on rider. May be split into 13 & Under and 14-17.                                                        Walk-Trot, Walk-Trot-Canter, and over fences with fences heights at 2'6".  

FHSS Low Adult Equitation - Open to Adult Amateur riders only.  Judged on the rider.  Walk-Trot, Walk-                                                     Trot-Canter, and to jump 2'. May cross enter Pleasure, Modified Hunters, or Novice Equitation.

Adult Equitation - Open to adult amateurs. Judged on the rider. Walk-Trot, Walk-Trot-Canter, and over fences with                                fence heights at 2'9".

 

~PLEASURE DIVISIONS~

 

Pleasure Pony -  Open to Junior riders on ponies. Judged on mount. Walk-Trot, Walk-Trot-Canter,  and                                                           to jump 18"-2'.

Pleasure Horse - Open to all riders on horses. Judged on mount. Walk-Trot, Walk-Trot-Canter. Horses to                                                          jump 2'6".

 

~HUNTER DIVISIONS~

Pony Model  - To be shown in hand.  Class may be combined into Low Children's Pony and Children's                                                         Pony Model, and pinned together, but half points should be awarded in each specific division.

Short Stirrup HunterOpen to riders 11 and under. Two over fences classes at cross rails to 18" and a W/T/C class.                                    Judged on the mount.

Low Children's Pony Hunter - Open to Junior riders on ponies. Judged on mount. All to jump 2' with an under saddle                             class. May not cross enter into Children's Pony Hunter. 

Children's Pony Hunter - Open to Junior riders on ponies. Judged on mount. S/M to jump 2', Large to                                                            jump 2'6. May not cross enter into Low Children's Pony Hunter. 

Low Children's Horse - Open to Junior riders on horses. Judged on mount. All to jump 2'6" with an under saddle class.                           May not cross enter into Children's Horse. 

Children's Horse - Open to Junior Riders on horses. Judged on mount. All to jump 3' with an under saddle class. May                                not cross enter into Low Children's Horse. 

Low Adult Hunter - Open to Adult Amateur riders. Judged on mount. All to jump 2'6" with an under saddle class. May                             not cross enter into Adult Hunter. 

Adult Hunter   -  Open to Adult Amateur Riders. Judged on mount. All to jump 3' with an under saddle class. May not                             cross enter in Low Adult Hunter. 

Developing Hunter - Open to horses and ponies in their first year of showing, regardless of age. Judged on mount.                                  Walk/Trot, Walk/Trot/Canter, and one or two over fences classes, 18" to cross rails.

Modified Hunter Open to horses or ponies, all riders. Judged on mount. All to jump 2' with an under saddle. 

Baby Green Hunter - Open to Horses or Ponies in their 1st or 2nd year of showing. Open to all riders. Judged on                                        mount. Ponies all to jump 2', Horses to jump 2'3" with an under saddle class. Trotting in corners not to                             be penalized.

Thoroughbred Hunter - Open to any Thoroughbred, all riders. Judged on mount. To jump 2'3" with an under saddle                               class. 

Low Hunter  - Open to horses or ponies, all riders. Judged on mount. All to jump 2'6" with an under saddle class. 

Open Hunter  - Open to horses or ponies, all riders. Judged on mount. All to jump 3' with an under saddle class.

 

~JUMPER DIVISIONS~  

Itty Bitty  -  Open to horses or ponies, all riders. To jump 2'-2'3" (.65m)

Puddle   -   Open to horses or ponies, all riders. To jump 2'3"-2'6" (.80m) 

                           (Puddle Jumpers not recognized by the Colonial Classic)

Preliminary    -   Open to horses or ponies, all riders. To jump 2'6"-2'9" (.85m)

Thoroughbred  - Open to thoroughbreds, all riders. To jump 2'6"-2'9" (.85m)

Low Children's/Adult  -  Open to horses or ponies, Junior or Adult Amateur riders.  May be opened for professional                                                    riders but must be pinned separately. To jump 2'9"-3'' (.90m)

Children's/Adult -  Open to horses or ponies, Junior or Adult Amateur riders.  May be opened for professional                                                    riders but must be pinned separately. To jump 3'-3'3" (1.00m)

Open Jumper  - Open to any horse/rider.  To jump 3'3"-3'9" (1.15m)

 

Jumper divisions may consist of  any of the  following classes:

Table II sec 1 - Time First Round
Table II sec 2A - Time First Jump Off.  All clean rounds to jump off after all first rounds                              are completed.

Table II sec 2B - Time First Jump Off.  All clean rounds stay in the ring and jump off                                    immediately.

Table II sec 2C - Power & Speed.
Table IV sec 1 - Optimum Time.  

Table III - Faults Converted into seconds
